Abstract

EnglishIn the sol-gel process, the formation of homogeneous ultrafine powders by hydrolysis-condensation reactions requires the characterization of molecular liquid precursors (degree of selfcondensation, molecular complexity...) and the control of the reactivity by chemical modification (prehydrolysis reaction, use of protecting ligands...). The sol-gel process offers many potential advantages for electronic ceramics. This route allows to reduce the sintering temperature and to control the crystal structure, stoichiometry, grain size and porosity. This leads to improve physical characteristics of the final products (ferroelectrics, resonators, ionic conductors)
