CeO2/Co3O4 porous nanosheet prepared using rose petal as biotemplate for photo-catalytic degradation of organic contaminants
Source abstract
Abstract
Abstract CeO2/Co3O4 porous nanosheets were prepared by biotemplate for photo-catalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB) and tetracycline (TC).The samples were systematically characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), nitrogen physical adsorption, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and ultraviolet–visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV–Vis DRS). The results showed that the CeO2/Co3O4 porous nanosheets prepared by the petal biotemplate successfully replicated the morphology of the template. The band gap energies of Eg1: 1.70 eV, Eg2: 2.42 eV, and Eg3: 3.56 eV were calculated by UV–Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The results showed that the removal rate of MB within 70 min was 96.42% and the removal rate of TC within 30 min was 85.35%. The degradation process was consistent with the first-order reaction kinetics. The results in this work show that the proposed algorithm has high degradation efficiency, stability and reusability.
