Wetting kinetics of jute-reinforced ceramic composites: A theoretical perspective
Source abstract
Abstract
The wetting behavior of two different liquids on jute-reinforced ceramic composites provides insights into the solid–liquid interfaces with contact angle measurement, which is regarded as the most reliable method for evaluating this property. This study underlines the differences in the wetting behavior of glycerol and water, concentrating on their contact angle, surface behavior, and spreading characteristics. The influence of wetting behavior on doping is subsequently highlighted in this study. By analyzing two jute-reinforced ceramic composites, this study showcases the effect of liquid properties and substrate chemistry on wetting phenomena. The models implemented substantiate the experimental data observed. The findings of this study have practical implication fields, such as coatings, printing, and biomedical applications.
