A power quality equalization compensation algorithm for medium-voltage distribution transformer-side power quality considering ordered clustering of incremental loads
Source abstract
Abstract
To adapt to the characteristics of continuity, dynamics, and uneven distribution of incremental loads and to ensure the power quality of the medium-voltage (MV) distribution transformer terminal, we study the power quality equalization compensation algorithm of an MV distribution transformer terminal that considers the orderly clustering of incremental loads. The algorithm utilizes a multifunctional grid-connected converter in series compensation mode to compensate for the terminal voltage of the MV distribution transformer, obtain the voltage reference value from the active part of the transformer, and maintain the load voltage amplitude constant to ensure the voltage fluctuation of the transformer terminal stays within a reasonable range. Based on the ordered clustering algorithm, the historical incremental load data of the MV distribution transformer terminal are clustered, and based on the obtained voltage reference value and clustering results, the load balancing method is adopted to equalize the distribution of power quality at the transformer side to ensure the stability and continuity of the power supply. The test results show that, after voltage compensation, the fluctuation range is between 0.96–1.00 p.u. The results of interclass tightness after clustering were all above 0.928, and the balanced load deviation values after the balanced distribution were all lower than 0.12.
