Chemical composition analysis of (Y1−xDyx)Ba2Cu4O8 single crystals via magnetic properties
Source abstract
Abstract
We developed a controlled method to tailor triaxial magnetic anisotropy for the magnetic alignment technique. (Y1−xDyx)Ba2Cu4O8 single crystals were grown under ambient pressure using the KOH flux method. This approach enables the controlled substitution of Dy ions, ensuring a uniform distribution of Y and Dy ions with high-quality crystal formation. Systematic evaluation of magnetic properties, including magnetic susceptibility, critical temperature, and temperature dependency of magnetic susceptibility, provided detailed insights into the Dy doping level (x) across the entire sample. The compositional uniformity obtained from magnetic measurements was in excellent agreement with localized TEM-EDX analyses, validating the reproducibility and reliability of our synthesis approach for precise compositional control in (Y1−xDyx)124.
