Abstract

Sheet resistance and thickness of as-cast poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) thin films fabricated on non-conductive glass substrates, by using the spin coating method, were determined. Commercially available P3HT was purchased and dissolved in chloroform. Dry, glass slides, cleaned using detergent, acetone, distilled water, and chloroform, in an ultrasonic bath were used as substrates for spin coating P3HT thin films at various spin speeds in ambient air to achieve different thicknesses. The in-line four-point probe method was employed to determine the sheet resistance of as-cast thin films. The results showed a correlation between sheet resistance and the P3HT thin film thickness, where the sheet resistance reduced with an increase in thickness.
