Abstract

Fieldoscopy Scalable, ultrafast, and compact photonic switching platforms are vital for next-generation optical communication. Effective switches require high duty cycles, rapid recovery, strong modulation depth, and full reversibility. Using fieldoscopy, Hanieh Fattahi and co-workers resolve the sub-cycle switching dynamics of indium tin oxide colloidal nanocrystals and demonstrate their potential as ultrafast optical switches operating with terahertz-scale bandwidth.
