Symmetry Breaking in Chemical Systems: Engineering Complexity Through Self‐Organization and Marangoni Flows (Adv. Sci. 5/2026)
Source abstract
Abstract
Engineering Complexity Through Self-Organization and Marangoni Flows This study uncovers how hydrophilic obstacles in the CHD-BZ reaction transform into synchronized wave centers, orchestrating stunning chemical wave dynamics. It reveals how evaporation-driven Marangoni instabilities fracture wavefronts into mesmerizing flower-like patterns. These discoveries open new avenues for controlling wave propagation in microfluidics and designing structured surfaces with tailored properties in materials science. More details can be found in the Research Article by Azam Gholami and co-workers (DOI: 10.1002/advs.202515672).
