Fast pH‐Driven Solubilization Method of Realgar (As 4 S 4 ) to Reduce the Toxicity of Arsenic [As(III)] for Medicinal Purposes (Adv. Sci. 29/2025)
Source abstract
Abstract
Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia The mineral realgar (As4S4), an orange-brown painting pigment widely used in ancient Egypt, has recently become a valuable drug against acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) in China. It mainly targets nuclear bodies (NB), altered in APL. The study of Iart Luca Shytaj, Andrea Savarino, and co-workers casts new light on the selective activity of realgar against APL and discloses potential novel medicinal uses of it.
