Gut Microbiota Colonization in Early Life Influences Susceptibility to Adulthood Hepatic Lipid Accumulation in High‐Fat‐Diet‐Fed Mice (Adv. Sci. 21/2025)
Source abstract
Abstract
Gut Microbiota Colonization The image vividly illustrates how gut microbiota colonization in early life influences susceptibility to MAFLD in adulthood. This study provides evidence that perinatal antibiotic exposure alters gut microbiota colonization to inhibit bile acid metabolism, thereby promoting dietary lipid absorption. Supplementing probiotics during lactation prevents high-fat-diet-induced MAFLD. More details can be found in article number 2412827 by De-Xiang Xu, Yan-Yan Zhu, and co-workers.
