Chromosome‐Level Genome Assembly of the Leafcutter Bee Megachile rotundata Reveals Its Ecological Adaptation and Pollination Biology (Adv. Sci. 23/2025)
Source abstract
Abstract
Ecological Adaptation and Pollination Biology In article number 2417054, Rangjun Shi, Li Hou,, Xianhui Wang, and co-workers present a high-quality chromosome-level genome of an alfalfa leafcutter bee Megachile rotundata which is the world's most intensively managed solitary bee, owing to its easy manipulation and high pollination efficacy. These findings provide an important foundation for understanding its ecological adaptation and optimizing its exceptional pollination efficiency.
