Matrix‐Rigidity Cooperates With Biochemical Cues in M2 Macrophage Activation Through Increased Nuclear Deformation and Chromatin Accessibility (Adv. Sci. 8/2025)
Source abstract
Abstract
Nuclear Mechanosensing Article number 2403409 highlights a nuclear mechanosensing mechanism of macrophages during M2 polarization. Dong-Hwee Kim, Jung-Hwan Lee, Jeongeun Hyun, Hae-Won Kim, and co-workers demonstrate how cells coordinate matrix rigidity and biochemical signals through altered nuclear tension and deformation and the chromatin accessibility of target genes. Their findings offer new insights into macrophage mechanobiology and therapeutic modulation.
