Empowering Tri‐Functional Palladium's Catalytic Activity and Durability in Electrocatalytic Formic Acid Oxidation Reaction via Innovative Self‐Caging and Alloying Strategies (Adv. Sci. 46/2024)
Source abstract
Abstract
Formic Acidic Oxidation Reaction In article number 2405725, Taeseup Song, Tae Ho Shin, HyukSu Han, and co-workers develop a novel nanomaterial engineering approach to design a self-caged and alloyed Pd-based electrocatalyst that demonstrates exceptional durability and activity for formic acid oxidation reaction. A conductive carbon frame embedded with Pd-Zr alloyed nanoparticles can be formed by utilizing a metal-organic framework (MOF) as a precursor. The self-caging and alloying process occurs in situ during electrochemical reactions. This enables the encapsulation of Pd-Zr particles within neighboring frames effectively mitigating particle aggregation and consequential enhancing catalytic performance.
