Suppressed Lone Pair Electrons Explain Unconventional Rise of Lattice Thermal Conductivity in Defective Crystalline Solids (Adv. Sci. 24/2024)
Source abstract
Abstract
Thermoelectrics In article number 2308075, G. Jeffrey Snyder, Yeon Sik Jung, Min-Wook Oh, and co-workers demonstrate the rise of the lattice thermal conductivity upon alloying, which is in direct contradiction to the conventional phonon scattering theory. The relationship between the lattice thermal conductivity and lone pair electrons is systematically studied to explain this anomaly.
