Spatiotemporal Insights into Glioma Oncostream Dynamics: Unraveling Formation, Stability, and Disassembly Pathways (Adv. Sci. 18/2024)
Source abstract
Abstract
Unraveling the Dynamics of Brain Tumor Invasion In article number 2309796, Pedro R. Lowenstein and co-workers present a comprehensive study on the behavior of glioma oncostreams, focusing on their formation, stability, and disassembly in vitro. As oncostreams are critical neuropathological structures in glioma invasion, understanding their pharmacological regulation is essential to develop novel treatments. Through in vitro and pre-clinical studies, the team investigates the effects of various pharmacological agents on oncostream dynamics, offering insights into potential anti-invasion strategies. The findings highlight the importance of targeting oncostreams in glioma treatment to improve patient outcomes, demonstrating the potential of pharmacological interventions in disrupting these structures and potentially extending survival.
