DNALI1 Promotes Neurodegeneration after Traumatic Brain Injury via Inhibition of Autophagosome‐Lysosome Fusion (Adv. Sci. 15/2024)
Source abstract
Abstract
Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy The cover is inspired by the concept of “Aim at the target”. In article number 2306399, Peng Lei, Weibo Liang, and co-workers identified the DNALI1 protein as a significant player promoting tau hyperphosphorylation in chronic traumatic encephalopathy via Inhibition of autophagosome-lysosome fusion. The crosshairs of the telescope are centered on DNALI1, where autophagic flux and fusion of autophagosomes with lysosomes can be promoted to clear accumulated phosphorylated tau proteins, ultimately combating neurodegeneration.
