Abstract

Motile Living Biobots This image shows an immunohistochemically-stained anthrobot – a self-assembling, autonomously motile construct made from adult human lung epithelium cells. When cultured appropriately, these cells form a multicellular biorobotics platform that moves via ciliary motion, and exhibits a number of interesting behaviors including the ability to heal damage in neuronal sheets in vitro.
