Formation of Giant Unilamellar Vesicles Assisted by Fluorinated Nanoparticles (Adv. Sci. 34/2023)
Source abstract
Abstract
Giant Unilamellar Vesicles In article number 2302461, Jorik Waeterschoot, Xavier Casadevall i Solvas, and co-workers present a new technique that harnesses the stabilization of microdroplets with silica nanoparticles for templating the formation of giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs) integrating conformationally-correct transmembrane proteins. Resulting GUVs could easily be released by centrifugation adding a new resource to the toolbox of the artificial cell community.
