Abstract
Bacterial microswimmers (bacteriabots) are shown to be capable of selectively attaching to mannose-expressing cells. The bioadhesion feature of these bacteriabots, in combination with their motility and chemotaxis, can be used for targeted drug delivery to certain types of epithelial cells in the urinary and gastrointestinal tracts. The bacteria can also be engineered to have affinity toward other types of cells.
