Abstract

In article number 1801361, Yao Lu, Rong Fan, and co-workers demonstrate a multiplexed antibody-barcode-integrated microtrough array chip, that sequentially measures protein secretions from >5000 single macrophage cells upon activation. The protein secretion dynamics classifies them into two major activation states dependent on the basal state of each cell, showing a cell-intrinsic heterogeneous response in a phenotypically homogeneous cell population.
