Microengineered Multi‐Organoid System from hiPSCs to Recapitulate Human Liver‐Islet Axis in Normal and Type 2 Diabetes (Adv. Sci. 5/2022)
Source abstract
Abstract
Microengineered Multi‐Organoid System In article number 2103495 by Jianhua Qin and co‐workers, a novel microfluidic multi‐organoid system derived from hiPSCs is proposed to recapitulate human liver‐pancreatic islet axis under both physiological and pathological conditions. It allows to investigate the dynamic interplay between liver and islet in type 2 diabetes, providing a unique platform for the study of complex pathogenesis in metabolic diseases and the development of new therapy.
