Metamaterials: Giant Asymmetric Radiation from an Ultrathin Bianisotropic Metamaterial (Adv. Sci. 7/2018)
Source abstract
Abstract
With application of a thin metamaterial slab without geometrical symmetry, a point source can radiate asymmetrically. In article number 1700922, Liang Peng, Baile Zhang, Hongsheng Chen, and co-workers demonstrate that the radiation asymmetry can be significantly promoted with enhanced magnetic resonances. Using such a design principle, an ultrathin layer composed of sparsely arranged split-ring resonators can realize nearly single-sided radiation in a wide frequency range.
