Abstract

Fetal Growth Restriction Trophoblastic exosomes transport PPARγ into fetal preadipocytes via fetoplacental circulation and thus participate in the transcriptional regulation of downstream genes, which is not identical to that of endogenous PPARγ in preadipocytes. Compromised PPARγ in the placenta causes deficient adipogenesis in the fetus and intruterine growth restriction but can be rescued by placenta-targeted activation of PPARγ.
