Abstract

Antibacterial Defense In article number 2411008, Yong Jiang, Zhanguo Liu, Peng Chen, and co-workers investigate the role of gut microbiota in antibacterial defense of older adults, identifying apigenin derived from Parabacteroides goldsteinii as a key factor in ameliorating aging-associated antibacterial defects. This cover illustration depicts an ancient Chinese mythological story in which Ne Zha rescues Jiang Ziya from perilous flames. Ne Zha, symbolizing Parabacteroides goldsteinii, waves chaotic silk representing apigenin to protect Jiang Ziya, who signifies older adults.
