Nanoarchitecture‐Integrated Hydrogel Boosts Angiogenesis–Osteogenesis–Neurogenesis Tripling for Infected Bone Fracture Healing (Adv. Sci. 43/2024)
Source abstract
Abstract
Infected Fracture Healing In article number 2406439, Qian Feng, Guohui Liu, Bobin Mi, and co-workers develop a pH-responsive nanoarchitecture-integrated hydrogel to treat bacteria-infected fracture through controlled release of humic acids, Zn2+, and Ga3+. This hydrogel promotes angiogenesis, osteogenesis, and neurogenesis. The enhanced neurogenesis further promotes angiogenesis and osteogenesis, forming a mutually supportive angiogenesis-osteogenesis-neurogenesis cycle at the fracture site, proving a promising whole-course-repair strategy for infected fracture healing.
