Abstract

Mobile Efficient Diagnostics The artwork represents the science behind MEDIC-PCR, which describes how a rapid photothermal heat cycle by light and carbon black interactions creates the ultrafast photonic PCR. The infrared light emitting diode is illuminated from the bottom on a carbon blackbased PCR chip. DNA polymerase at the center joins new nucleotides to old nucleotides coded in color to represent AT and GC base pairs. More details can be found in article number 2302072 by Gyoujin Cho, Luke P. Lee, and co-workers.
