Gaudichaudione H Enhances the Sensitivity of Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cells to Disulfidptosis via Regulating NRF2‐SLC7A11 Signaling Pathway (Adv. Sci. 11/2025)
Source abstract
Abstract
Gaudichaudione H The cover image depicts the tale of Sun Simiao, revered as the Chinese King of Medicine, who heals a tiger and a dragon through distinct methods. In article number 2411131, Pengfei Liu, Yetong Feng, Dongmei Ren, and colleagues identify Gaudichaudione H, a natural small molecule from Garcinia oligantha Merr., as an effective NRF2 activator. NRF2 functions as a transcription factor that protects cells from toxic and oxidative stress. However, Gaudichaudione H-induced NRF2 activation enhances cell disulfidptosis, highlighting the contrasting roles of NRF2 (analogous to the herbs) in different cell death models (analogous to the tiger and dragon).
