Abstract
Efficient One-Step Co-Production of H2 and CH4 In article number 2406119, Yiqing Yao and co-workers investigate the enhanced effect of onestep co-production of H2 and CH4 in AD by LAB and elucidated its enhancement mechanisms. From left to right, lactic acid bacteria wielding an axe (hydrolytic genes) to break down the limiting substrate lignocellulose, which drives other hydrolytic and acidogenic bacteria to carry out hydrolysis and VFA production. Then, small organic molecules are broken down to release hydrogen, while methane is simultaneously produced under the regulatory influence of methanogens' reagents (methanogenic genes).
