Microbial Resistance: Silver Covalently Bound to Cyanographene Overcomes Bacterial Resistance to Silver Nanoparticles and Antibiotics (Adv. Sci. 12/2021)
Source abstract
Abstract
Silver covalently bound to cyanographene overcomes bacterial‐resistance mechanisms to silver nanoparticles, eliminating such highly persistent microorganisms at concentrations thirty times lower than free silver nanoparticles. The strong covalent bonding of silver clusters to the graphenebased 2D matrix imparts very high cytocompatibility compared to free silver nanoparticles, enhancing the real biomedical potential.
