A Bio‐Responsive Hydrogel with Spatially Heterogeneous Structure for Treating Infectious Tissue Injuries (Adv. Sci. 23/2025)
Source abstract
Abstract
Bio-Responsive Hydrogel This frontispiece highlights a bio-responsive hydrogel featuring Preyssler-type polyoxometalates (POMs) for sodium ion-triggered silver release. The hydrogel delivers potent and broad-spectrum antibacterial activity while maintaining biocompatibility. Its spatially heterogeneous structure enables controlled release and tissue integration, offering a promising therapeutic strategy for repairing infectious soft and hard tissue injuries under complex pathological conditions.
