Abstract
3D Printing of a Vascularized Mini-Liver In article number 2309899, Yu Tao, Mingqiang Li, and co-workers report the superior hepatic differentiation and pro-angiogenic effects of human mesenchymal stromal/stem cell spheroids. Moreover, coculture with hexagonally and coaxially patterned endothelial cells further contributes to the production of hepatocyte-like cells. Leveraging these significant benefits, a vascularized hepatic lobule-like mini-liver is fabricated by 3D bioprinting, demonstrating effective treatment of acute liver failure.
