Abstract

Advanced Medicine for Inflammatory Bowel Disease A novel melanin-based medicine composed with ultrasmall polydopamine nanodots is employed as an efficient oral formulation for the targeted treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. The potential therapeutic mechanism involves the elimination of oxidative stress, the reduction of ROS-mediated proinflammatory response, the amelioration of intestinal barrier function, and the restoration of normal gut microbiota.
