Abstract

Abstract Spectral imaging technology, capable of capturing detailed spectral and spatial information, finds wide applications in remote sensing, machine vision, biomedical diagnosis, etc. However, current spectral systems face challenges, including limitations in detector performance, complex optical systems, elevated costs, and so on, hinder their full potential. Perovskite materials present promising solutions to these challenges, owing to their remarkable properties. This review emphasizes the advantages of perovskites in spectral imaging, providing the first systematic discussion of coding‐detection co‐design for computational spectral imaging, and highlights their tunable bandgaps, high sensitivity, fast response, and defect tolerance. Then the current applications of perovskite materials in spectral imaging are summarized, including single‐point devices, FPA array devices, and novel device architectures. Finally, the spectral acquisition methodologies are summarized across various device architectures, analyze the challenges and advancements in perovskite‐based spectral imaging systems from laboratory research to practical applications, and outline prospective research directions. This review aims to inspire further innovations and accelerate the development of perovskite‐based spectral imaging systems.
