Sensing: Reversible/Irreversible Photobleaching of Fluorescent Surface Defects of SiC Quantum Dots: Mechanism and Sensing of Solar UV Irradiation (Adv. Mater. Interfaces 11/2019)
Source abstract
Abstract
UV irradiation may significantly alter the fluorescent surface groups of semiconductor quantum dots. The fluorescent carboxylic acid group-related surface defects of the colloidal cubic silicon carbide quantum dots show reversible photobleaching upon exposure to UV light, and this phenomenon can be utilized to sense the solar UV irradiation with high accuracy.
