Abstract

Electricity can be generated from water/rain drops using triboelectric effect. In article number 2100032, Huidrom Hemojit Singh and Neeraj Khare demonstrate how electricity is generated when water drops fall on the surface of ferroelectric polymer (PVDF-ZnO) film using Kelvin probe force microscopy. Based on the findings, a mechanism for generating electricity is proposed. A liquid-solid interface triboelectric nanogenerator is fabricated, and the device's experimental output is correlated with the proposed mechanism.
