Electrocatalysis: Earth‐Abundant Silicon for Facilitating Water Oxidation over Iron‐Based Perovskite Electrocatalyst (Adv. Mater. Interfaces 11/2018)
Source abstract
Abstract
Perovskite oxides, which feature a flexible structure, have garnered interest as inexpensive, efficient substitutes for electrocatalytic water oxidation. In article number 1701693, Zongping Shao and co-workers showcase how incorporating Earth-abundant, nonprecious, metalloid silicon into an iron-based perovskite electrocatalyst can be used to greatly facilitate the reaction kinetics. This enhancement is attributable to a Si-doping induced structural transition. Cover illustrator: Yijun Zhong.
