Nanowires: Optical Wavelength Filters Based on Photonic Confinement in Semiconductor Nanowire Homojunctions (Adv. Mater. 4/2014)
Source abstract
Abstract
Semiconductor nanowire homojunctions are grown via a homoepitaxial regrowth method in a chemical vapor deposition system by J. Yao, Y. S. Shao and co-workers on page 620. In a single nanowire homojunction, the channel with the larger diameter permits the propagation of multi-wavelengths of light, whereas the channel with the smaller diameter only confines light with a short wavelength and filters out the long wavelengths, which can be coupled out with a nanowire crossed junction. Through integrating homo- and crossed junctions into the nanowire network, the multi-channel wavelength filters would be realized for light signal processing in the integrated nanophotonics.
