Abstract

Wearable solar-blind photodetectors (SBPDs) are critical for health and environmental monitoring. However, achieving real-time visual feedback while maintaining high sensitivity and flexibility has been a great challenge. Here, we present a cutting-edge visualized fiber-shaped SBPD (VFSBPD) that synergistically integrates electronic and optical detection modes for wearable-compatible solar-blind ultraviolet (UV) monitoring. Our newly-developed VFSBPDs combines a solar-blind-sensitive semiconductor with a fluorescent carbon dot-modified gel electrolyte, achieving a remarkable responsivity of 2.3 mA W −1 and a rapid response time of 230 ms. Moreover, it provides a dual-mode output, including precise electronic quantification and instant colorimetric feedback, greatly enhancing both reliability and user interaction. The fiber-shaped architecture of VFSBPDs guarantees superior mechanical compliance, weavability, and omnidirectional luminescence, making it easily integrated into textiles. We have demonstrated the versatility of VFSBPDs in UV imaging, secure optical communication, and environmental monitoring. This work bridges the gap between high-performance detection and practical wearable applications, offering a highly versatile platform for dual-mode solar-blind UV sensing. • Dual-mode detection : Simultaneous electronic quantification and real-time visual feedback enhance reliability and user interaction. • Fiber-shaped design : It offers superior flexibility, weavability, and omnidirectional luminescence, enabling seamless integration into textiles. • Scalable fabrication : A dip-coating and helical twisting assembly process ensures practical manufacturability. • Multifunctional applications : Demonstrated utility in UV imaging, secure optical communication, and environmental monitoring highlights its potential for next-generation wearable optoelectronics.
