Abstract

In article number 1401657 Maxim S. Pshenichnikov and co-workers describe pathways of initial charge generation in photovoltaic blends based on novel star-shaped molecules for solution-processed organic solar cells. The cover design shows electron and hole transfer processes that are equally important for charge separation. The results presented demonstrate how ultrafast spectroscopy, combined with quantum-chemical calculations, can shed light on ways to optimize organic solar cells.
