Metasurface Photoelectrodes for Enhanced Solar Fuel Generation (Adv. Energy Mater. 46/2021)
Source abstract
Abstract
Solar Water Splitting In article number 2102877, Ludwig Hüttenhofer and co-workers design nano-engineered semiconductor photoelectrodes that enable broadband visible light trapping, thereby providing nearly six-fold photocurrent enhancement under hydrogen evolution reaction conditions compared to planar films. The proposed robust upscaling procedure from single nanoparticles to large-scale metasurfaces unleashes the potential of employing dielectric nanophotonics in photocatalytic devices.
