Ferroelectric Materials: Synthesis and Application of Ferroelectric P(VDF‐TrFE) Nanoparticles in Organic Photovoltaic Devices for High Efficiency (Adv. Energy Mater. 12/2013)
Source abstract
Abstract
On page 1581, Jinsong Huang and co-workers report the synthesis of the ferroelectric polymer poly(vinylidenefluoride-trifluoroethylene) (P(VDFTrFE)) nanocrystals using a simple solution method. The pre-formation of ferroelectric P(VDF-TrFE) nanoparticles avoids the need for a post-annealing process and provides excellent control of the morphology of the P(VDF-TrFE) nanocrystal interfacial layer. This provides a new, low-cost interfacial layer material for organic solar cells to optimize their efficiency. The material is compatible with any low bandgap semiconducting polymer, without restrictions on thermal processes.
