Abstract

We report the synthesis and electrical properties of an electrochemically prepared conjugated polymer, DOPPV, poly(decyloxy-p-phenylenevinylene), which is soluble and suitable for optoelectronics. J x V characteristics of sandwich devices (TO anode, Al cathode) led to information about the transport of charge carriers. We found the transport in the polymer layer to be limited by the bulk following the model of space charge limited current (SCLC). The mobility value for positive charges was obtained.
