Abstract

Magnetic materials are pivotal in spintronics, where the electron's spin is harnessed for information processing, potentially leading to faster and more efficient devices. Among the promising materials in this domain are magnetic organic-inorganic hybrid halide perovskites, which effectively bridge the realms of magnetism and multifunctional applications. This review provides a comprehensive overview of these materials, covering their fundamental physical principles, diverse properties, and potential applications in spintronics and other emerging fields. The discussion begins with an in-depth examination of the fundamental physics underlying magnetic organic-inorganic hybrid halide perovskites, including concepts such as superexchange interaction and Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction. Various strategies to incorporate magnetic ions─particularly transition metals like Cu, Mn, Co, and Ni─are highlighted, emphasizing their impact on both the structural integrity and magnetic properties of the materials. By manipulating the organic and inorganic components, researchers can achieve diverse magnetic behaviors, including ferromagnetism and antiferromagnetism, which are vital for potential applications in spintronics and information storage. Key areas that warrant further investigation include the development of multifunctional devices that capitalize on combined chirality and ferromagnetic properties and the optimization of synthesis methods to enhance the conductivity of these magnetic materials, further promoting the application of these materials in chiral spintronics and machine learning-driven magnetic hybrid perovskites discovery.
