Improved Energy Storage Performance of Bi 0.41 Na 0.41 Ca 0.18 TiO 3 Lead‐Free Ceramics by Incorporating Bi(Mg 2/3 Nb 1/3 )O 3
Source abstract
Abstract
Bi 0.5 Na 0.5 TiO 3 ‐based lead‐free ceramics have received much attention in the field of energy storage; however, their widespread use is hindered by high residual polarization. Herein, Bi(Mg 2/3 Nb 1/3 )O 3 (BMN) is incorporated into Bi 0.41 Na 0.41 Ca 0.18 TiO 3 (BNCT) using the solid‐state reaction method. The lead‐free ceramics with a perovskite structure of (1− x )Bi 0.41 Na 0.41 Ca 0.18 TiO 3 ‐ x Bi(Mg 2/3 Nb 1/3 )O 3 (the abbreviation is (1− x )BNCT‐ x BMN, where x = 0.00, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20) are successfully synthesized. The phase structure, microstructure, high‐temperature impedance, and energy storage properties of BNCT are investigated by varying the BMN content. Following that, 0.90BNCT–0.10BMN ceramics exhibits a high recoverable energy storage density of 4.04 J cm −3 and an energy storage efficiency of 84.9% under an electric field strength of 164 kV cm −1 . Furthermore, these ceramics demonstrate excellent frequency and temperature stability under an electric field of 140 kV cm −1 . These results highlight the promising potential of 0.9BNCT‐0.10BMN ceramics for energy storage applications.
