The Effect of Fe Doping on the Magnetoresistive Behavior of Layered Perovskites La1.4Ca1.6Mn2O7
Source abstract
Abstract
The effect of the partial substitution of Mn with Fe in the layered perovskites (x ≤ 0.2) La1.4Ca1.6Mn2—xFexO7 has been studied. The results show that conduction and ferromagnetism have been consistently suppressed by Fe doping. The colossal magnetoresistance is enhanced by Fe doping in some cases. The formation of ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic clusters originating from the random substitutions of Mn3+ by Fe3+ ions has been suggested to explain the experimental results.
