Application of MAPbBr 3 Perovskite Nanoparticles as an Ultrasensitive Fluorescence Probe in the Detection of Trace Lauryl Thiodipropionate in Edible Oil
Source abstract
Abstract
Dilauryl thiodipropionate (DLTP) has been widely used as an antioxidant to inhibit the oxidation of edible oils. However, the excessive use of DLTP poses potential risks to human health. Therefore, it is of great importance to develop a simple, highly sensitive sensing platform capable of detecting trace amounts of DLTP in edible oils. In this work, MAPbBr 3 perovskite nanoparticles were synthesized and explored as a photoluminescent probe for DLTP detection. The MAPbBr 3 nanoparticles exhibited excellent fluorescence sensitivity toward DLTP in petroleum ether, enabling qualitative analysis with a remarkably low detection limit of 2.03 × 10 –17 mol L –1 and quantitative detection in the range of 10 –7 to 10 –17 mol L –1 . Moreover, the probe demonstrated high sensitivity to DLTP in soybean oil with a minimal detection limit of 2.91 × 10 –15 mol L –1 . Quantitative determination could be accurately performed in the range of 1.25 × 10 –4 to 1.25 × 10 –14 mol L –1 . These findings suggest that MAPbBr 3 perovskite nanoparticles represent a promising fluorescent sensing platform for the rapid and sensitive detection of trace DLTP in edible oils. Overall, this study may provide an avenue for the design of advanced sensing systems for monitoring antioxidant residues in edible oils.
