Abstract

Two-dimensional Ruddlesden–Popper (RP) lead halide perovskite nanoplates (NPls) have recently attracted attention due to their superior properties in optoelectronics. However, structural degradation of these materials under continuous photoexcitation restricts their acceptability. Herein, we report an instantaneous structural as well as optical recovery of colloidal (OAm) 2 (CH 3 NH 3 PbI 3 ) 2 PbI 4 RP NPls from its UV-degraded stage through a simple “protonation” approach by proton-donating species like 1-dodecanethiol, 4-aminothiophenol, and hydroiodic acid.
