S-Scheme Heterojunction Based on Resorcinol–Formaldehyde Resin Nanosheets and Bi-Based Metal–Organic Frameworks for Efficient Photocatalytic H2O2 Production
Source abstract
Abstract
At present, photocatalytic hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ) production has been widely concerned, and it is a great challenge to design and develop a photocatalyst for efficient production of H 2 O 2 for rational utilization of solar energy. In this work, the RF/Bi/Bi-MOF nanostructure catalyst was prepared with the method of two-step synthesis. Bi-MOF nanorods were synthesized via a solvothermal method, and then resorcinol and formaldehyde were polymerized into resorcinol–formaldehyde resin nanosheets around the Bi-MOF nanorods. At the same time, bits of Bi 3+ were reduced to Bi-metal. The RF/Bi/Bi-MOF significantly improved the production efficiency of photocatalytic H 2 O 2 . Specifically, RF/Bi/Bi-MOF-0.3 demonstrated significantly improved photocatalytic H 2 O 2 production capabilities, achieving a flow rate of 1787.17 μmol/g/h under simulated solar illumination. This performance is 38.59 times higher than pure Bi-MOF and 3.01 times higher than pure RF. Through analytical characterization, the S-scheme mechanism of the heterojunction has been verified. The S-scheme heterojunction promotes the rapid transfer of electrons and improves charge separation. This study offers fresh perspectives on the design and synthesis of innovative Bi-MOF/organic polymer semiconductor heterojunction photocatalysts.
