High-Performance Flexible Electromagnetic Wave Absorber through Synergistic Regulation of Matching and Reflective Layers
Source abstract
Abstract
High-performance electromagnetic wave absorbing (EMA) fabrics are increasingly required in complex electromagnetic wave (EMW) environments, where layered fabrics exhibit significant advantages for wave propagation and attenuation. However, the structure–performance relationship between interlayer reflection and electromagnetic attenuation remains insufficiently understood, and many layered designs still rely on semiempirical rules. Herein, a bilayer absorber (CuPRS) is constructed by integrating rGO/SiC-filled polyimide as the matching layer with a metallized polyimide nonwoven substrate as the reflective layer. Benefiting from the synergistic effect of interlayer reflection and electromagnetic attenuation, the layered absorbing fabric achieves a “1 + 1 > 2” performance improvement with minimal structural complexity, resulting in an RL min of −73.08 dB at a thickness of only 1.88 mm. More importantly, this work systematically clarifies the critical role of coordinating interlayer reflection and electromagnetic attenuation in layered system. Maintaining moderate interlayer reflection while providing appropriate loss capability enables effective utilization of multiple reflections and sufficient energy dissipation. These findings provide empirical guidance for the development of next-generation layer-by-layer assembled EMA fabrics.
