Abstract

Triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs), as an emerging mechanical energy harvester, provide a promising solution for wireless energy transmission based on Maxwell's displacement current, thereby serving as a critical technology for the development of wireless self-powered systems. However, the charge transmission characteristics of TENG in the wireless powering process are not yet clear in the field. Here, we experimentally found and clarified the charge transmission characteristics of TENG: it can be regarded as a constant charge source (CCS) in the wireless powering process; i.e., no matter how many receivers there are, the total amount of transferred charge received by all receivers from the TENG remains unchanged per wireless powering cycle. This finding offers us in-depth understanding of the wireless energy transmission mechanism of TENG, contributing to the development of TENG wireless self-powered transmission.
